MODELLING PROJECT SHEETS

   Auckland Airport Water Supply

AWT Water developed a hydraulic model for the Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) water supply network using the US EPA EPANET Version 2.0 software. The hydraulic model was primarily built from the AIAL Microstation GIS database.

   BATHURST WATER SUPPLY OPTIONS ANALYSIS

AWT Water completed a system performance and options study for the Bathurst water supply network. An assessment of the existing distribution capacity was undertaken by running the existing H2OMap calibrated hydraulic model for both peak conditions and fire flow scenarios. The aim was to provide a better understanding of the current performance of the Bathurst water supply network and highlight areas where upgrade options should be considered.

   PORIRUA WATER SUPPLY MODEL

AWT Water have been working with PCC in order to develop a comprehensive modelling package to assist an initiative to drive high levels of service in Porirua for all three reticulated waters. We developed the hydraulic model for the PCC water supply network based on PCC GIS database using the US EPA EPANET Version 2.0 software.

   TAUPO BAY WATER SUPPLY UPGRADE

AWT worked in partnership with TDC to develop a strategy to provide Taupo Bay with a reliable water supply, compliant with the DWSNZ 2005 (Revised 2008) and meeting future demand requirements. The existing Infoworks WS water model was updated using the most recent GIS dataset and calibrated based on monitored summer demands in order to reflect the current network operation under peak conditions.

WAIPU & PARUA BAY STORMWATER CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT PLANS
The Waipu & Parua Bay catchment have been identified as key growth areas in the Whangarei District. Extensive deforestation in both catchments has led to an increase in rainfall run off and erosion, resulting in degraded water quality and increased flooding.
